Operations expand into northeast PA with the development of offices, asphalt plant and quarry in Greens Landing, PA serving the northern tier counties.

GOH operates 22 quarry and 8 asphalt production facilities across Pennsylvania and southern New York as well as 4 regional operations centers.

Asphalt production consumes over 1,000,000 tons of Recycled Asphalt Product.
2007
An asphalt plant was constructed and put into production in Barkeyville in western Pennsylvania facilitating the I-80 and I-79 corridors in western Pennsylvania.

Aggregate crushing and processing operations were opened in Hazelton, PA.

An operations center was established in Grove City, PA to manage and service the western regions of Pennsylvania.

Intermodal rail facilities are completed in Pleasant Gap, PA permitting inbound and outbound commodity shipments and transloading.

GOH created a subsidiary business, Hawbaker Construction Services, now Hawbaker Engineering, which provides design and consulting services to customers for site planning, government approvals and professional engineering services.
2001
GOH moved into a newly constructed office building in State College designed with modern technology in mind to facilitate the continuing growth of the company. This building houses the centralized corporate operations and central regional management.

The aggregate quarry in Erwin, New York was opened establishing the first operations outside of Pennsylvania.
2000
An aggregate mining facility and asphalt production plant was begun in Milroy, PA to service the Mifflin County, PA markets.
1999
GOH opened the Hagerman’s Run quarry and aggregate processing facilities south of Williamsport working cooperatively with its asphalt production plant in Montoursville.
1998
GOH acquired the assets of George E. Logue, Inc. of Williamsport, PA and established another regional operations center in Montoursville, PA to serve the eastern region of Pennsylvania extending into New York with the opening of quarry operations in Erwin, NY.
1997
GOH added the quarry and processing facility in Sandy Ridge, Clearfield County, PA. diversifying and expanding aggregate products.
1995
Quarrying operations begin in Milroy, PA later to be accompanied by an asphalt production facility in the same location.
1994
Asphalt and quarrying operations we opened in Turtlepoint, PA. further expanding regional management to the north-central region of Pennsylvania.
1992
The first annual Charity Golf Outing took place. As of 2012 the total donations to beneficiaries is approaching $1,000,000.

Highway milling operations take place for the first time.
1990
Bridge construction operations begin as a new element in the company’s ability to provide services for its customers, Penn DOT, counties and municipalities. Bridge building and rehabilitation has continued steadily through the years.

Pleasant Gap aggregate operations exceeds 1,000,000 tons of production for the first time.
1989
The Dubois regional operations were established expanding regional management as well as asphalt production capability.
1988
Daniel and his brothers Alan and Glenn Jr. purchased the quarrying operations of Marblehead Lime Company of Pleasant Gap, PA forming Centre Lime & Stone adding substantially to the aggregate reserves available to GOH.
1983
An aggregate processing plant is built in Pleasant Gap, PA adding another dimension of integration to the company further expanding its products and capabilities.
1978
Daniel Hawbaker takes over the Presidency of the company from his father who “retires” to manage his many interests and continue in an advisory role to the company.
1977
The first $10 million project is completed on the State Route 26 bypass, later to be designated I-99.
1974
The Pleasant Gap asphalt plant was added to the company through the acquisition of Centre Asphalt expanding the paving products business as the company became larger and more integrated. This was the company’s first Penn DOT approved asphalt plant. Through the 1970’s the company acquired and expanded its fleet of construction equipment to be able to take on larger scale projects while maintaining its core businesses.
1972
The company won a major development contract to participate in the development of the Toftrees hotel complex and residential community in State College launching further growth.
1966
Glenn’s son, Daniel R. Hawbaker joined the company after serving in the military and completing his education at the University of Maryland.
1965
The Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. company was officially incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania.
1952
Glenn O. Hawbaker and his wife Thelma founded a small excavation company acquiring equipment from Glenn’s brother Alvin a local developer. They contracted with local State College builders and developers in a growing community.
As the decade progressed the company took on larger projects including excavation for some of the larger apartment complexes in State College. The company played a major role in the development of the Park Forest residential community in State College an early example of planned residential communities.
